赫佐（Christian Rizzo）是法國最重要的舞蹈創作中心蒙彼里埃國家編舞中心藝術總監，但與其說他是編舞家，不如說是以聲音、物件和肢體為素材的藝術家。在《來自真實故事》你可發掘赫佐所有面向。

赫佐在伊斯坦堡觀看一場現代舞，卻被最後一班男子「快閃」闖入的民族舞震撼不已，觸發赫佐創作《來自真實故事》。今次由法國五月及西九共邀赫佐首度與香港觀眾見面，帶來這套自2013年首演起被視為赫佐巡迴演出最廣、最受歡迎的作品。

個人與群體、情誼與比拼、對話與戰爭，各種人類的共同記憶，跨越一己肉身時限，深藏流傳數十萬年的舞蹈和節奏之中。《來自真實故事》的極簡舞台上，八位男舞者以當代肢體語言總結各地傳統舞蹈的共通精粹，兩位鼓手現場撼動搖滾節拍，帶領觀眾進入一場超越時空的儀式，直撃生而為人最核心的體驗。

On 14 and 15 June, West Kowloon and Le French May co-present the Hong Kong debut of French choreographer Christian Rizzo’s acclaimed dance work From a True Story (d’après une histoire vraie).

Created in 2013, and inspired by the emotions stirred by a short all-male folk dance he experienced in Istanbul, From a True Story is Rizzo’s most well-known and widely toured work.

Described as a “contemporary vision of a folk dance on drums” the piece incorporates eight dancers and two live drummers – Didier Ambact and King Q4 – who drive the dance with repetitive, earthy, tribal rhythms, creating a zone of tension with the dancers that lies somewhere between dialogue and battle. On a minimalist stage, the all-male ensemble blend folkloric gesture and formal contemporary movement, creating a living sculpture that builds slowly to a joyous and visceral communal climax. Evoking notions of individuals and community, camaraderie and competition, memory and tradition, From a True Story is a work that strikes at the core of human experience.
