浮士德擁有世間所有知識卻仍未滿足。意識到此，他開始感到空虛和不完美。他要追求現實的極限，甚至還要超越它。在《浮士德歷史》(1587)一書內，這個歷史人物的生平混雜了傳説和迷信，卻彰顯警世之道──每個渴求知識的人要謹記：上帝行事，是不可知的……

1808年，歌德根據聳人聽聞的浮士德傳說，寫了一個有關追求知識、渴望救贖的劇本。

編舞家王新鵬繼演繹《戰爭與和平》和《哈姆雷特》等文學巨著後，再次以當代敍事芭蕾帶領觀眾進入一個古老的人性寓言和神秘的魔幻世界。

Into the magical world of the ancient human parable

Faust has acquired all the knowledge but cannot find satisfaction.  At the moment of becoming aware of it, he is getting the sense of emptiness and imperfection. He wants to reach the limits of reality and to exceed them. In the book of folk tales Historia of Doctor Faustus (1587), the biography of the historical person is mixed with legends and superstition: Everybody who aspires to cognition be warned: God keeps his cards close to his chest…

In 1808, Goethe creates a play of thirst for knowledge and longing for redemption out of the sensational legend. 

After his much-noticed choreographic interpretations of significant works such as War and Peace and Hamlet, Xin Peng Wang takes the audience with his new narrative ballet into the magical and mystical world of the ancient human parable.
