2021關渡藝術節 以舞蹈串聯北藝大獨有風景

臺北藝術大學(北藝大)於1991年7月下旬正式由蘆洲遷校至關渡校 區,今年迎接「出蘆入關」30周年。這個北藝大的校史盛事,也成為了 2021關渡藝術節的主題!

《表演場》早前與2021關渡藝術節藝術總監、北藝大舞蹈學院院長何曉 玫教授走訪校園不同空間,率先感受北藝大關渡校區的獨有風景,同時了解今年關渡藝術節如何走出劇場,為觀眾帶來遊走校園看表演的嶄新體驗。

表:今年關渡藝術節的主題焦點內容是什麼?

何:今年我們的主題是「出蘆入關30」, 而舞蹈和身體是最容易融入風景的,在 構思今年關渡藝術節的主題時,我想把它放在「 舞蹈 GPS 」上,去介紹一下這個地方。回首30年前,我們藝術學院來到關渡,在這邊再重新開始;學校當時跟這 一片山頭有了新的連結,藝術的不同形式 也在這裡開始扎根,所以這座山對於我 們這些藝術者很重要!今年的舞蹈也希 望走出劇場,在這個校園的不同空間場 域裡,讓舞蹈回到更生活化的層面,然後 也串聯起整個校園的不同景色,讓舞蹈 可以在不同場域展現身體與生活的樣貌,並把不同的場域裡連結起來,就像是 我們把舞蹈注入在土地裡一樣。

表:對於北藝大關渡校區,您的第一印象是甚麼?

何:在我唸書時,我們是處於一個遊牧學院的狀態,沒有校舍、需要借用別人的教室。那時候每年校慶,學校都會開 一台大巴士,把我們帶到關渡這個山 頭;那時這個山頭還是荒煙蔓草,學校 就跟我們說這裡將會是北藝大的校址, 將來會有音樂廳、舞蹈廳、戲劇廳...... 我就想像,這個空間以後有那麼棒的設施,又有游泳池、又有美術館,怎麼這麼好, 我都用不到呢?所以就在心裡想,有一天我一定要回來這裡當老師!

表:5月開始,台灣突然進入疫情高峰期。今年關渡藝術節的活動會如何規劃及對應?

何:其實也因為疫情的關係,我們更加去思考 怎麼讓舞蹈不被局限在劇場裡,所以才更有動力走出劇場,讓演出可以不設限於室內,或因為疫情而更被局限。

30th anniversary of TNUA’s move from Luzhou to Kuandu
The 2021 Kuandu Arts Festival – using dance to connect the distinctive sights of TNUA campus

In late July, 1991, the Taipei University of the Arts (TNUA) officially moved from Luzhou to the Kuandu campus. This year marks the 30th anniversary of this event. This significant event in the university’s history has become the theme of the 2021 Kuandu Arts Festival.

Earlier, accompanied by Professor Ho Hsiao-mei, Artistic Director of the 2021 Kuandu Arts Festival and Dean of the School of Dance at TNUA, the Art Venue visited variou spaces on campus. In addition to taking in the distinctive sights of the Kuandu campus of TNUA, we also found out how this year’s Kuandu Arts Festival would take the audience out of the theatre and bring them the new experience of strolling around the campus to see performances.

The Art Venue: A

A: What’s the focus of the theme of this year’s Kuandu Arts Festival?

H: This year, our theme is the “30th anniversary of TNUA’s move from Luzhou to Kuandu”. It is easy for dance and the body to merge into the landscape. While thinking about this year’s theme, I wanted to use a “Dance GPS” to introduce this place. Thirty years ago, our university moved to Kuandu to make a fresh start. At the time, it built a new connection to this hilltop. Different forms of art began to take root here. That’s why this hill means so much to us artists. This year, we want to take dance out of the theatre and onto different sites on the campus, so that dance can become closer to life once more and link up the different sights on campus. At the different venues, dance will manifest the forms of the body and life and connect the diverse places. It’s like injecting dance into the soil.

A: What was your first impression of the Kuandu campus of TNUA?

H: During my student days, we were like a travelling school. We didn’t have any school buildings and had to borrow classrooms from others. During the anniversary of the university each year, they would send a bus to take us to this hill in Kuandu. At the time, it was overgrown with grass. We were told this would be the new site of TNUA, with a concert hall, dance theatre and theatre for drama...When I fantasized about the excellent facilities in future, like a swimming pool and a museum, I thought I would never get to use them. So I decided I had to come back here to teach one day!

A: Starting in May, Taiwan suddenly experienced a huge outbreak of the virus. How would you plan the events at this year’s Kuandu Arts Festival in response to it?

H: Actually, because of the pandemic, we try to think of ways so that dance will not be confined to the theatre. We have a stronger motivation to get out of the theatre, so that the performances will not be confined indoors or be limited by the pandemic.
