由康文署藝術節辦事處主辦的「世界文化藝術節─北歐五國」，將會為香港觀眾帶來一連串精彩的北歐演出作品。其 中，Nordic & Hong Kong Band Sound Gala 將會是今年 藝術節的閉幕節目，於伊利沙伯體育館表演場，上演兩場能 量爆燈的音樂會。作為今次音樂會的策劃人，香港著名音樂 人兼音樂文化推手龔志成(阿龔)，及其中一隊有份演出的 香港組合─雞蛋蒸肉餅(GDJYB)，就接受了表演場的訪 問，分享對今次音樂會及香港獨立音樂發展的想法。
冀盼北歐的高藝術性流行音樂作品 能影響香港觀眾及音樂人
表:你如何構思今次的音樂會?
龔:我跟康文署的同事開會，籌備今次 「世界文化藝術節」的音樂節目時，建議 做一個較為年輕及有爆發力的節目，然後 我們便決定辦 Nordic & Hong Kong Band Sound Gala。
北歐的音樂一直都在全球樂壇中佔有重要 地位。今次的 Band Sound Gala 將會有 八隊來自北歐的音樂勁旅參加，包括冰 島、瑞典、芬蘭各有兩隊組合，以及丹麥 和挪威各有一隊組合，而香港會有五隊音 樂組合參加。
我自己曾經去過兩次冰島的Iceland Airwaves音樂節，覺得當地的音樂非常有 意思和特別。冰島人口只有32萬，但卻是 世界上重要的音樂之都。冰島人的聲線好 像跟其他人的不同，而且會將不同的樂器 加入樂曲中。
北歐的流行音樂作品的作曲結構有很高的 藝術性，我希望一方面能讓香港觀眾更接 觸有特色的音樂，擴闊他們的品味;另一 方面，我希望能透過今次的交流合作，去 激發本地樂隊的新思維;從而整體推動本 地獨立音樂發展。香港的獨立音樂發展仍然較為狹窄，而音樂的主題可以更為有社 會性。
表:今次的音樂會有什麼值得留意的重 點?
龔:今次參與演出的北歐樂隊中，大多以 女性為主音，這是香港，甚至是全球音樂 界中少見的。我是從超過一百隊樂隊之 中，選出這八隊來香港演出，沒有刻意去 選擇以女性當主音的樂隊，而事實上，北 歐是非常著重女權及性別平權的地方。同 時，他們的音樂造詣非常好，不論是古典 音樂，抑或是流行音樂都能駕馭。
緊接在11月16日及17日的兩晚演出後，我 們會在浸會大學進行三天的閉門工作坊， 邀請一位演奏家及一位唱作人跟本地獨立 樂隊交流，然後第三天的晚上會有工作坊 成果發表會。我非常期待見到今次的交流 成果。
雞蛋蒸肉餅(GDJYB)- 獨立音樂 乜乜乜
成立於2012年的GDJYB，在過去七年不 斷成長，曾去過不同地方的音樂節，更曾 入圍第二十八屆台灣金曲獎「最佳樂 團」，以及獲得台灣金音創作獎「海外創 作音樂獎」，歌迷不乏海外人士，但在香 港發展獨立音樂，仍然艱難。
表:你們早前曾到冰島參加Iceland Airwaves音樂節，有什麼得著?
GDJYB(主音Soft):能夠去冰島參加音 樂節，可以說是夢想成真。這是我們成立 的時候，已經定下的目標。冰島是一個人 口很少的地方，但卻出產了非常多精彩的 音樂人。當有份親身參與，發現它是一個 music in the city模式的音樂節，音樂演 出遍布每一個角落，整個城市都擁抱這個 音樂節，人們不會投訴有噪音，跟香港很 不一樣。
GDJYB(鼓手Heihei):感受很深。音樂 節演出中，我們可以跟觀眾有很強的互 動，舞台跟觀眾很近，大家可以隨時台上 台下互相對話;同時，有不少觀眾會留下 來跟我們交流，我們發現有來自美國的樂 迷熟悉我們的音樂，而且每一場演出都有 來捧場。海外演出的確為我們建立海外觀 眾群，從音樂串流的下載量而知道。
GDJYB(主音Soft):另外，我們從銷售 量知道，黑膠唱片的顧客中，有四分之一 是美國人。海外演出很重要，或者是因為 我們的音樂較適合海外市場。我們第一次 海外演出是在嘉義，那次是自費參加音樂 節。此後，我們都是受邀參加音樂節。
表:GDJYB成立了七年，現在正面對什 麼挑戰?香港的獨立音樂生態環境有改變 嗎?
GDJYB(吉他手Soni):經過七年時間， 我們確實遇上樽頸位，在創作靈感上，很 需要新突破。在香港發展獨立音樂一點也 不易，我們現時是各自分擔團隊內的行政 工作。
GDJYB(主音Soft):我們仍然有很多目 標未達成，例如巡迴演唱會。我也覺得在 創作靈感方面，需要一點新的發展。因 此，我們非常期待今次Band Sound Gala 的合作和工作坊，希望多認識北歐音樂人 的創作過程。在冰島的時候，我們遇上一 位的士司機，在談話中知道他的正職是教 唱歌，而且還有其他兼職。他們很重視藝 術文化，而slasher(註:身兼多職的自 由工作者)是很普遍的現象，令他們有更 大的自由度去追求夢想。香港很難有這樣 的社會狀態。
GDJYB(鼓手Heihei):我們在籌備新的 專輯，希望能有新的創作方向。關於獨立 音樂人的發展空間，我覺得是各人自己的 生活方式選擇，要收入穩定，或是要有彈 性的生活方式。我們現在都各自有其他的 freelance工作去支持GDJYB繼續走下 去，而獨立音樂人需要靠其他工作應付生 計，在外國也是一樣。
GDJYB(低音結他手Wing):相對上， 在台灣的獨立音樂單位會容易得到資助， 去辦音樂會或執行計劃，而且政府提供很 多外國交流計劃，令他們有更大的的國際 舞台曝光機會。香港仍然未有支持獨立音 樂發展的資助及政策。
Nordic & Hong Kong Band Sound Gala is one of the highlight programmes of this year’s World Cultures Festival: The Nordics, organised by the Festivals Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Bringing eight Nordic indie groups and five Hong Kong bands together, the gala will present two exceptional evenings to the Hong Kong audience.
The Art Venue interviewed the curator of the gala, Kung Chi Shing, a renowned musician and advocate for indie music in Hong Kong. We asked Kung about his initial idea for the gala, and he said: “When I met with the Festivals Office to design the music programmes, we noticed that the Festival’s other programmes this year are more serious and lean more towards fine arts. So, we decided to organise this Band Sound Gala to be energetic and chill.” He continued: “I have visited Iceland twice. The country is an important city for music and I am always amazed by their music. The eight indie groups from the Nordic countries have been selected from a list of 100 indie groups and, coincidentally, most of the vocalists are women.”
“Nordic music is unique, with extremely high artistic value because of their music structure, composition, and use of a wide range of musical instruments. I hope to broaden the taste of the Hong Kong audience and to encourage Hong Kong musicians to think out of the box.”
GDJYB is one of the Hong Kong bands joining the Band Sound Gala that performed at the Iceland Airways Festival in 2017. GDJYB told us that the opportunity to perform overseas is important to them, for it helps them to meet new audiences. GDJYB said: “A fourth of the customers who bought our records are from the US. The first time that we performed overseas was in Chiayin, Taiwan, at our own expense. Since then, we have been invited to perform in many countries and no longer need to finance the trips ourselves.”
Established in 2012, GDJYB is still facing challenges after all these years. “It is not easy to be an indie group in Hong Kong. We all have other freelance jobs to make a living and to keep GDJYB alive. But that is just the norm everywhere.” GDJYB added: “In Hong Kong, we don’t have any funding or policy to support the development of indie music.”
There are still many goals that GDJYB wants to achieve and they are hoping for a breakthrough. “We look forward so much to the Band Sound Gala and the workshop as Nordic countries have a very important position in the world of music. We want to learn more about their music creation process.”
