由香港藝術發展局主辦、香港賽馬會慈善信託基金捐助,第三屆「賽馬會藝壇 新勢力」已經正式啟動!以「藝術周圍 走」爲主題,於今年九月至明年一月期 間,為公眾帶來七個演藝節目、兩個視 藝節目,以及超過150 個免費教育及社區活動。過去兩屆「賽馬會藝壇新勢力」非常成功,累積受惠人數高達27萬。藝發局的行政總裁周蕙心女士接受表演場 的訪問,分享「賽馬會藝壇新勢力」的發展以及成果。

表:「賽馬會藝壇新勢力」已經進入第三屆,恭喜!當初為什麼會有辦這個活動的想法?
周:過去幾年,藝發局帶香港藝術家到海外不同地區參加表演藝術博覽會,令藝術家能夠在不同國際平台有演出機會;例如在德國杜塞爾多夫國際舞蹈博覽會2016 (internationale tanzmesse nrw 2016)中,有六組舞蹈藝術家獲得在歐洲演展的機會。當初我們將曾登上國際舞台的香港演出,帶給本地觀眾,構思正切合香港賽馬會的四大慈善策略範疇之一,即「藝術、文化及保育」,再者配合大館的開幕,我們很幸運地得到馬會的資助,於2017年啟動第一屆「賽馬會藝壇新勢力」。
表:由第一屆發展到現在第三屆,活動經歷了什麼轉變?
周:我常說藝發局是一個小而美的機構。雖然在統籌海外演出及「賽馬會藝壇新勢力」時,會遇到不少無法掌握的難處,但是我們的行政方式靈活,能夠隨機應變。 例如在香港找合適的演出場地不容易,我們便嘗試安排節目在非傳統的演出場地上演,透過innovative programming (創意節目策劃) 吸引市民參與,結果非常成功,亦令贊助機構滿意。每次遇到難處,都是迫使我們去探索新的機會。此外,我和我的團隊都是不安於現狀的,藝術節開始了,便要繼續向前,每一年都要有新元素。
表:「賽馬會藝壇新勢力」帶來了什麼重要的成果?
周:透過支持本地藝術家參加香港以外藝術節或藝術博覽會與「賽馬會藝壇新勢力」的互相配合,我們將一些較新或較小型的藝團,推薦給港外機構,然後把他們帶回香港。例如去年中演公司從推薦的演出名單中,選了La Sax參與大灣區巡演,這是在我們意料之外的。現在將La Sax 的演出在香港上演,除了讓觀眾有機會看到他們的演出,也可以令大家知道不同地區的觀眾品味。藝術節亦創造了不同的突破,例如伍韶勁的媒體藝術展,便是首次有藝術機構跟渠務署合作,舉辦藝術活動,引來各界關注及大批市民來參觀。另外,藝發局從民政事務局「藝術發展配對資助計劃」,成功配對賽馬會的贊助,發展出新的「優秀藝團計劃」,令更多藝團受惠及提升本地藝術界整體發展。
Presented by Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (the Trust), the third edition of JOCKEY CLUB New Arts Power (JCNAP 2019) was officially launched. Taking on “Arts Around Us” as the theme, JCNAP 2019 will be held between September 2019 and January 2020 and will present seven performing arts programmes, two visual arts programmes, and more than 150 community and educational events. The past two editions of JCNAP were great successes, reaching about 270,000 participants. Ms Winsome Chow, the Chief Executive of HKADC, was interviewed by The Art Venue about the development of JCNAP and its achievements so far.

TAV: It’s the third edition of the JCNAP! Congratulations! Why did HKADC launch this festival?
ADC: Over the past few years, HKADC has brought local artists and arts groups to participate in overseas arts markets. This provided many of them an opportunity to showcase their productions in different countries. For example, at the internationale tanzmesse nrw 2016, six groups of dancers were invited to showcase their works in Europe. We wanted to have a homecoming showcase in Hong Kong of the works that they presented overseas. Coincidently, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust had set “Arts, Culture, and Heritage” as one of their four focus areas of donations, and the Trust was opening the Tai Kwun, a centre for heritage and arts. We were lucky to have the Trust’s sponsorship to launch the first edition of JCNAP in 2017.
TAV: What has changed since the first edition?
ADC: HKADC is a small and beautiful organisation. When we were working on the overseas arts market projects and the JCNAP, we encountered a lot of unforeseen difficulties. But we managed to play it by ear due to the flexibility of HKADC’s management. It has not been easy finding suitable venues to showcase the productions, so we explored showcasing the performances at unconventional spaces. The constraints of these spaces prompted us to adopt innovative programming and to leave no stone unturned to attract audiences and fulfil the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) set by the Trust. And we made it! My team and I are willing to make changes to take the festival to a higher level every year.
TAV: What are the major achievements of JCNAP so far?
ADC: We have promoted new or smaller arts groups abroad and showcased them in Hong Kong through the oversea projects and the JCNAP. For example, last year we proposed a list of programmes to the mainland presenter, who picked La Sax, giving this Hong Kong saxophone ensemble the opportunity to tour to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Through the JCNAP, Hong Kong audience can better understand the tastes of the audiences in other areas in addition to simply enjoying the performances. We also broke new ground. After the Deluge by Kingsley Ng was the first time that the Drainage Services Department supported an art project. Additionally, the sponsorship from the Jockey Club allowed the HKADC to receive a matching fund from the “Art Development Matching Grants Scheme” of the Home Affairs Bureau to launch a new “Eminent Arts Group Scheme”.

1. 7A 班戲劇組《大笑喪:喪笑大晒》
Class 7A Drama Group The Happy Dying ( 13-15.9.2019 )
爺孫兩代於戲內開展「求 生求死」激烈爭辯,以喜 劇和荒誕的方式呈現有關 「好死」與「活夠」的生死 思考。
An old man and his grandson argue heatedly about the question of whether “to live or to die”. The thought-provoking question about “dying happily” or “living long enough” is presented in a comedic and absurd manner
2. 綠葉劇團《孤兒》
Théâtre de la Feuille L’Orphelin ( 17-22.9.2019 )
《孤兒》捨棄佈景道具與華 麗服裝,以最純粹的肢 體,另類演繹經典劇目 《趙氏孤兒》。
Without settings, props, deluxe costumes, the performers in L’Orphelin tell their alternative version of the classic story solely with their bodies.
3. La Sax《JunGo瘋!》
La Sax Jungo! ( 11-12 & 19-20.10.2019, 9-10.11.2019 )
十多位色士風樂手化身為 奇趣可愛的動物,同時夥拍兒童電視節目主持 Harry 哥哥(王者匡),攜手合奏出多首耳熟能詳的古典、爵士及流行音樂,再配以魔術、互動環節等舞台演出。
LaSax’s talented saxophonists transform into whimsical and musical animals and join well-known children’s entertainer, Harry Wong, to perform a diverse repertoire with magic performances and audience interaction.
4. 黎德威《So Low》
Lai Tak-wai So Low ( 6-7.12.2019 )
獨立編舞家黎德威於 2017 年首次創出的個人獨舞作品,以時間為題,呈現人在時間狹縫中各種跌宕。
Independent choreographer Lai Tai-wai debuted his solo work in 2017. Amid the hardship and burden in life, one has to go with the flow.
5. 楊春江《舞・師》
Daniel Yeung Contempo Lion Dance ( 演出日期稍後公佈 Dates to be announced )
本地資深舞蹈家楊春江聯同郭氏功夫金龍醒獅團,為傳統舞獅藝術注入新生命,大膽實驗,結合當代舞蹈、實驗音樂、極限運動「飛躍道」,重新編排作品《舞.獅》。
Joining hands again to inject new life into the traditional art of lion dance, veteran local dancer Daniel Yeung and the Kwok’s Kung Fu & Dragon Lion Dance Team combine contemporary dance, experimental music, and parkour to re-choreograph their signature multimedia performance.
6. 鄧樹榮X邢亮X梅卓燕《舞 ‧ 雷雨》

資深劇場導演鄧樹榮、著名舞蹈家邢亮及梅卓燕攜手挑戰跨界,以身體語言重塑曹禺經典劇作《雷雨》。 在陽光普照之日到來前,呼應每一代年輕人的抗爭精神。
Renowned theatre director Tang Shu-wing and choreographers Xing Liang and Mui Cheuk-yin join to re-illustrate Cao Yu’s classic novel, Thunderstorm, with body language. While the day in the sun is yet to come, the work echoes the rebellious spirit shared by the youth of every generation.
7. 香港舞蹈總會《緣起敦煌》
Hong Kong Dance Federation Dunhuang Reflections ( 21-22.12.2019 )
從敦煌壁畫汲取靈感,編舞以當代美學概念,將「伎 樂飛天」、「反彈琵琶」等敦煌大千世界中的景象,通過舞蹈、舞者的身體、神態,結合舞台效果、奪目服飾,一一重現觀眾眼前。
Inspired by the Dunhuang mural paintings, the choreography reinterprets these historical treasures with contemporary aesthetics. Dunhuang-esque postures are presented to the audience through the dance and the dancers’ bodies and countenances, with stage effects and flamboyant costumes to match.
