The performance of new media art emphasises multimedia works that often combine sound and visuals, and sometimes even involve mechanical devices that offer participants a more intimate experience of the artist's thinking and the venue's ambiance. This programme invites five new media artists from Taiwan to share their creations and engage in a rare collaborative demonstration performance, giving Hong Kongers a taste of the diversity of new media art in Taiwan.

About the artists
Lai Tsung-yun
Chaining together mixed noises and oversampling test tones, Lai's sound experiments offer listeners a profound trip into an enigmatic soundscape. He has been curator of Lacking Sound Festival since 2013.
Yao Chung-han
A pioneer of Taiwan’s sound and light art, Yao utilises the corresponding and contrasting relationship between light and sound to trigger the audience’s imagination toward their physical senses.
Wu Ping-sheng
By observing physical sounds in the environment or analyzing digitally processed sounds, Wu seeks to broaden the "vision"of sound as it continues to be translated or substituted between different media by natural or artificial means.
Wang Hsin-jen a.k.a. Aluan Wang
Fond of creating unique and refreshing pieces by sound and image programming techniques, Wang commits himself to introducing digital art to the public by utilising the openness of open source software and bringing the wonders of sounds and images to his audiences.
Wang Chung-kun
Wang has created various forms of machinery that project an intriguing purity and peculiar sense of beauty. His sound art possesses a musicality, consciously liberating the abstract nature of sound and converting it into a more concrete form of music.
